Blueprint Selected for Global Microsoft Early Adoption

London, 21 September 2011; Blueprint, the business intelligence solutions specialist, has been selected to participate in the Microsoft SQL Server Rapid Deployment Programme (RDP).  As one of very few UK companies selected for this programme in the UK, Blueprint will have the opportunity to experience the next version of SQL Server before the software is officially released.

Having recommended one of its clients, the largest live entertainment company in the world, to be part of the RDP programme, they were duly selected by Microsoft and invited to the Airlift event in America.  David Searro, Head of Technical Architecture at Blueprint, travelled to Seattle with the client to experience the latest functionality and capability of Denali, which ultimately helped shape the development of the product.

Denali includes security enhancements in four areas: security management, authentication, data protection and auditing.  Other important features included are the new AlwaysOn high availability feature which combines the best of Window Failover Clustering and Database Mirroring, the new SQL Server Development Tools IDE which provides a unified development experienced for both relational and BI developers, the new columnar index feature which can speed up data warehousing queries by up to 100x, and the new project Crescent which is designed to enhance end user data visualisation.

David has high hopes for this latest release from Microsoft and believes it can bring considerable value to customers ‘Denali is an exciting new release with some great functionality and significant updates, which will assist us in delivering value quickly to customers’.
